About the Project

Quaize is a free platform for creating interactive quizzes with artificial intelligence, built for teachers

Project History

The Problem

After Kahoot was blocked in Russia, teachers were left without a convenient tool for interactive lessons. Existing Russian alternatives either cost from 500₽/month or lacked artificial intelligence features.

The Solution

Artem Artemov created Quaize — a completely free platform with a built-in AI assistant. Now teachers can generate quizzes in 30 seconds from topic descriptions, uploaded PDF/Word documents, or article links.

Technology

Initially the project was written in Python, but later the backend was completely rewritten in Go for better real-time functionality. Go routines and channels are perfect for managing the state of synchronous games with dozens of participants.

The frontend is built on Next.js with Server-Side Rendering for better SEO and performance. After the release of Next.js 16, many components were rewritten as Cache Components for faster performance.

Growth

The main growth channel is word of mouth in closed teacher communities. The platform has been tested with groups of up to 80 people and receives positive feedback from educators across Russia.
